How much snow so far? and selected the city of Worcester, Taunton and Boston being the other two choices. We do typically get a bit less in our service area so you can reduce the totals by a point or two. Here is the data: As of 2/26/2014 we have received 80.6” of snow, last year at this time we had 75.6”. The average snow fall in Worcester between the years of 1892 and 2010 has been 70.0”. Last year however Worcester won the prestigious “Golden Snow Globe Award” as it had the most snow for a city in the U.S. with a population greater than 100K; snow totaling 108.9”.
So what does this all mean? It means that we have around 13% more snow this year than average and about 26% less than the total of last year. So, in a nut shell and if my math is correct we need over 30” to pass last years totals, but statistically we shouldn’t get any more snow, you be the judge… – Peter Meggison
